Incest is the name of the game as a student named Keita becomes the target of his step-sisters’ lustful overtures.
Keita is a middle school student living in a mixed-family situation. His father married a woman with two daughters, Ako and Riko, so now he has a couple of older step-sisters to show for it. Unfortunately for him, these girls have taken an unnatural liking to him and have begun competing for his romantic attention. He wakes up one morning before school with both of them in bed with him, and since his arms have fallen asleep, he’s forced to lay there helpless as they do “this and that” with him. Because of it, he’s nearly late for school. His friends don’t see the problem, though — they all have crushes on his sisters and hope to pass the entrance exam for their high school so that they can spend each day with them again. Keita, unfortunately, doesn’t have the grades to attend his sisters’ school, much to their chagrin.
Ako and Riko get more and more competitive for Keita’s affections, trying to make the best bento for him and fighting over who gets to wear his shorts, which causes him nothing but grief and he ends up going to school without breakfast. When Ako and Riko show up at school to deliver their lunch masterpieces, Keita snaps and tells them off. They’re both disappointed, and sulk away. Realizing that he was too harsh, Keita follows them and decides to try and get into their high school, something which will require a lot of undivided studying attention. Whether the girls will be able to keep their hands off long enough for that to happen is something that remains to be seen.
I knew that this episode would be ecchi, but the extent of the perverseness surpassed even my liberal expectations. This is in no way, shape or form for anyone other than adults, and even then I would hope that any rational adult would take one look at the episode and realize that they’d be losing not only 25 minutes of their time, but some portion of their self-respect. Ecchi anime has its place, but ecchi anime skirting this close to the line of good taste (but they’re not blood relatives! Pff, most people wouldn’t make the distinction) starts to tread into gross-out territory.
If you’re not prepared to take my content warning seriously, let me go into more detail for you. Within the first half of the episode, Keita has a full-on erection (in his shorts, of course, but it’s featured in more than one shot) and one of the sisters is teasing him with her hand. There’s some simulated sex as well as the suggestion of oral sex (neither of these ever come to pass, but I think the point here is to excite the viewer’s imagination). Of course, despite all of this, I think the most shocking part of the episode is the fact that their parents seem to be perfectly fine with the situation, and even expect Keita to marry one of the sisters. What? No seriously, what? The show went from being merely gross to completely ludicrous once that came to light.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have any ethical qualms against the portrayal of sexuality in anime. Heck, I have little to no problem with most hentai, since I figure everyone needs a little help to get the job done sometimes. What it comes down to with this show is how it skirts every line so that it’s just barely out of “adults only” territory, and actually tries to play at some serious drama while at the same time elaborating on a premise that I’ve heard only featured in actual hentai animation. The step-sister angle really pushes the line of good taste, and while I guess it technically avoids anything that might be construed as illegal most places (I can’t really elaborate on local laws but I assume step siblings are categorized differently than blood siblings in most areas), it’s still gross.
I guess the bottom line is, don’t try to convince me that this show has some deep, heartwarming plot — its sole purpose is to exist for the sake of tasteless, ecchi fanservice, and any story that the makers try to tack on is, well, putting lipstick on a pig.
- At least it’s not Eiken
- The show pretends like it’s not a hentai, when all evidence suggests otherwise
- The technicalities about the incest (they’re not really related!) are irritating
