Hi all, once again it’s been a long while. I briefly mentioned this in my previous update (following Anime Detour), but I kind of fell off the face of the Earth due to being pregnant and dealing with some medical issues related to that. I’ll probably write more about that harrowing experience in a separate post but I’m at least happy to say that at this point all is well and our baby is here. Of course, over the past several months the social media landscape has gotten kind of interesting following the degradation of Twitter/X and the creation or proliferation of several social media services hoping to fill that void. I must say, for all its issues I’ve always enjoyed Twitter and I’m sad to see it fall apart due to the incompetence of its ownership, but as someone who grew up with the rise of the Internet, this isn’t the first implosion I’ve watched happen in real time and it definitely won’t be the last.
I did want to update folks as to where/how you can find me if you’re interested in following me on some of those alternate arenas. Though I don’t post very often unless it’s to link to stuff here (so to be honest for several months there’s been nary a peep out of me for the most part) I do like/interact with other people’s stuff and I do care about and like to keep tabs on the people I’ve met through anime fandom, so I do enjoy the connections in that regard.
I’m not deleting my Twitter/X for the time being as I’m still trying to suss out where my new permanent online home(s) will be, but below are a few alternatives that I have and intend to try to use to some degree (though to be honest, I’m fairly certain from the looks of it that Bluesky Social is likely to win out unless something drastically changes). Please feel free to add me! You’ll know it’s genuinely me because I try to keep my username and icon consistent across platforms, but if you’re not sure you’re free to contact me here and ask 🙂

I’m planning to do my darnedest to cross-post updates to all/multiple platforms, but I can’t promise anything (I’ve relied quite a bit on the ability of my particular WordPress/Jetpack setup to auto-post to Twitter and elsewhere, so if that isn’t an option for all of these platforms I suspect they may fall by the wayside inadvertently. On the other hand, my updates here are likely to remain less frequent for a while, so the burden may not end up being so… burdensome.
